

Walter Victor Boyle, 89, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, December 18, 2020.
Walt was born July 23, 1931, to Wilma Nora Drehmer Boyle and Walter Jacob Boyle in Dodge City, Kansas. Shortly after Walt was born the young family moved to San Antonio, Texas, where Walt attended Woodlawn Elementary, Horace Mann Junior High and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1949. Walt attended Trinity University, San Antonio, before transferring to the University of Texas, Austin, where he graduated with honors with a B.S. (54') and M.A. (55') in Geology. While at UT, he taught Freshman Geology Lab. He joined Shell Oil Company and spent most of his career in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Houston. After retiring in the early 90's Walt enjoyed many activities, but especially traveling up till this year.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vada Adams Boyle, and sister, Marilyn Gray Killinger and husband, Dr. Peter Killinger. In addition, two nephews: John Jefferson Gray III and wife, Susan, and Stephen Anthony Gray and wife, Megan. He was a great uncle to Lauren, Emily, Cameron and Galen.
Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Linda and husband, Richard Taylor and their daughters, Ann and husband John-Marc Lapeyre and Katherine and husband Brandon Bukovitz and their children Margaux and Olivier Lapeyre and Bailey and Carter Bukovitz, and numerous relatives and friends .
A memorial service at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church will be announced at a later date.
