Thomas Ray Gallatin passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on December 17, 1939, in Martinsville, Illinois, Thomas led a life marked by dedication and love. He graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, a testament to his passion for learning and innovation.
Tom had a distinguished career, working with various engineering companies and managing projects worldwide. He was also a running enthusiast, completing 18 marathons, including the prestigious Boston, New York, and London marathons. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed biking, golfing, and flying model airplanes.
A long-standing member of Cypress Creek Christian Church, Tom founded the Friendship Sunday School class and taught for over 30 years. He was actively involved in marriage enrichment programs and supported Boys and Girls Country, reflecting his commitment to community and family values.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Brenton and Esther Gallatin, his brother, Pete Gallatin, and his son, Bryan Gallatin. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kay Gallatin; his children, Boyd Gallatin and Anita Tesarek; and his cherished grandchildren, Michelle Dorsett, Grant Johnson, Shane Gallatin, Kayla McEowen, Abby Gallatin, Allie Gallatin, and Cody Harris. He was also a proud great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tom’s life at a service on March 7th at 2 PM at Cypress Creek Christian Church. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
