

His parents immigrated to the United States from the Ukraine. He passed at the age of 95 into the loving arms of Jesus, on January 13, 2020, in The Woodlands, Texas.
Stan is survived by his wife, the love of his life for 72 years, Mary Jane Pyndus. Survivors include children: Sueanne, her husband Randy Nichols, Stanley (Bodie) Pyndus Jr., his wife Linda, and Nancy, her husband, Randy Wells. He is survived by 7 grandchildren, Aubree, Meagan, Camille, Stuart, Kathryn Jane (KJ), Nathan and Travis, and 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers Milton, Phillip, and George.
He attended high school in Houston,Texas, and college at Rice University, and The University of Texas in Austin, where he graduated with a degree in Geology. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. as a Staff Sargent.
He began his career as an independent geologist, and later established a successful exploration company, Range Oil Company focusing on the Gulf Coast of Texas. His humble charm endeared him to countless friends and business associates who were drawn to his genuineness and honesty. Stan lived his life by the simple Bible principle, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” We will remember him as a kind and gentle soul with a great sense of humor and infectious laugh. He was a joy-filled, generous, creative and passionate about people. Stan was a great tennis player winning the City of Houston Championships in his 20’s, continuing to play into his 80’s. He spent time mentoring and guiding young men in their career paths. He always had time to sit and listen and willing to give to any friend, neighbor or stranger, young or old.
He was a member of Grace Methodist Church, St Stephens Methodist, First Methodist Houston, and Christ Church United Methodist.
The family thanks Elizabeth Leek, Gulia Butcher, and Macy Oaks for their loving care of Stan as he walked the long road home to rest in the arms of His Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
A celebration of life is scheduled for January 24, 2020, at 11 am., at Christ Church United Methodist, 6363 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381. A lunch will follow the service where remembrances and stories can be shared about Stan's life. Pastor Marc Donaldson will officiate, with organist, Jim Conner.
