It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Sheryll Lynn Hand. She fought a brave fight against a rare Cancer, never once complaining or losing faith that God had a plan for her. Sheryll was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on July 7, 1947. She was the only Child of Roger and Irene Melsha Craft. Sheryll grew up partaking in many activities such as riding and showing horses, ice skating, and synchronized swimming. Upon graduating high school, Sheryll moved to Des Moines, Iowa to attend The College of Automation. She was quite a forward thinker as she graduated with a computer programming degree in 1966. While working a part time job during College, she met her future husband, William Edwin Hand. They were married for 50 years.
When Sheryll was 40 years old, she decided to change careers and went to nursing school at Angelina Community College where she obtained her LVN degree. She worked at the Lufkin State School with Special Needs occupants. She truly loved that job.
Sheryll and William moved several times but finally settled in Kingwood, TX., where she has been a long time member of Kingwood United Methodist Church and worked several years at a minor emergency clinic.
Sheryll leaves behind a loving family:
Husband: William Hand.
Daughters: Teresa Smith, Lana Eastman, and Laurel Vest.
Son-in-laws: Carl Smith, Reid Eastman
Grandchildren: Andrea Storm, Shelby Eastman, Grant Eastman, Clinton Vest, Dane Eastman, and Breayanna Vest.
Great Granddaughter: Lynna Storm.
Sheryll was the rock of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, not only for her family, but most importantly she taught her family the love of Jesus Christ, our savior.
Sheryll's memorial service will be held Saturday, June 10th at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at Kingwood United Methodist Church. 1799 Woodland Hills Dr. Kingwood, Texas 77339.
