Sharon Kay Jones

Sharon Kay (McElroy) Jones left this earth to be with the Lord on Sept. 20, 2023. She was born in Lubbock, TX on Sept. 4,1962 & moved to Pasadena, TX in 1966 when she was 4. She was the athlete of the family playing basketball & running track in school. Sharon played softball, loved water skiing & boating. Her daughters were very involved in volleyball, so it was natural for her to referee volleyball professionally in recent years. She enjoyed watching professional & college sports, especially from the comfort of long-time family friends, the Gregory’s, pool. She was a big Astros fan. Sharon worked for only few companies during her career. Most of her employment was with Compaq, HPE & HPI where she worked for 25+ years and made lifelong friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Judy & Doyle “Mac” McElroy & brother Jack McElroy. She is survived by her daughters Ashlyn & husband Josh Ackerman, Kayla & husband Brian Hannan; grandchildren Addison, Parker & Grayson; sisters Rene’ & husband Chris Jensen, Lorrie & husband Ron Lawson;13 nieces & nephews; 12 great nieces & nephews & 1 great nephew on the way.

A celebration of life will be held at District 249, located at 23238 Hwy. 249, Tomball,TX 77375 on Sat. Oct. 14th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Cornea Research Foundation of America.
