Royal Edward Moore of Conroe, Texas, went to his final resting place with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, on January 22, 2025. He was 92 years old. He was born in Lake City, Arkansas on September 27, 1932 to Herbert and Argin (Qualls) Moore. While growing up, he lived in Arkansas, California, and Missouri. In 1949 he moved to Indiana where he resided in Michigan City, Indiana until moving to Conroe, Texas in 1973 where he remained until he went to his final home in Heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Marguerite, Chester, Travis, Patricia, Teddy, and Terry. He is survived by his wife of 71+ years, Mary (Story) Moore of Conroe, TX; his three daughters and their spouses- Debra (David) Moeller of The Woodlands, TX, Mary June Smith of New Braunfels, TX, and Vicki (Carey) Staton of Conroe, TX; his younger brother and his spouse, Herbert Moore, Jr. (Lori) of Bella Vista, Arkansas. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
To sum up his life, his wife and daughters describe him as a man of integrity, with a good moral compass. He always put God first and then family above all else. He was a devoted husband and dad.
He enjoyed reading a variety of books. His favorite book was the Bible which he read over 30 times. He had such a desire to learn about anything and everything. He also enjoyed gardening and rock polishing.
He served in the United States Army from 1953 – 1955. A Military Memorial Service will be held for him at Northside Baptist Church, 701 N. FM 3083 W, Conroe, TX 77303 on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:30am.
