Robert Moreland Lynch (Bob), beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2023. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 1,1939. He was the son of Moreland Humphreys and Estelle Edelman Lynch, and the brother of Carole R. Lynch. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Pat) of 45 years, his daughter Bethany Edkins and husband Lowell, granddaughter Isabel Edkins, and uncle to Sharyn Rhodes and Christopher Layton.
Bob graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and worked in the field of environmental chemistry until his retirement in 2010. He spent over 25 years of his career in Pittsburgh with NUS Corporation, a Halliburton Company, where he was a chemist, safety officer, and hazardous waste disposal coordinator. The family relocated to Sugar Land, Texas in 1997, and he was employed as a chemist by Gulf Coast Waste Disposal Authority of Pasadena, Texas until his retirement.
Bob was a long-time member of the American Chemical Society.
Bob was known as a gentle, kind person with a dry sense of humor. He was an avid reader and loved music (especially jazz and classical) and animals of all kinds. But most of all he loved his family.
Bob was a long-time member of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Missouri City, Texas until recently transferring to The First United Methodist Church in Missouri City. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 25th at The First United Methodist Church, 3900 Lexington Avenue, Missouri City, Texas.
