He graduated from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1969. He went on to become a Health Inspector for Wichita County and eventually became the Director of the Health Department.
Sonny was actively involved in Central Christian Church as a Deacon, Elder, Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. As an avid horticulturist, his favorite place was the garden, where he developed many species of Day Lilies which he registered nationally and marketed. He was a dedicated Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), who worked tirelessly to help children in difficult and abusive situations.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nollie Mae Wall and Reuben Aldin Warren, and his brother, Robert Joseph Warren.
He is survived by his wife, Gaye Warren (née Wilson), his daughter Gena Metzger and her husband John, daughter Sarah Rupert and her husband Chris, and four grandchildren of which he was very proud: Sean O’Brien, Meg O’Brien, Brayden Rupert and Karli Rupert.
