Thinking of you as your birthday is approaching just around the corner. I still get a kick out of seeing & hearing people refer to you as Paul, to family you will forever be known as Pete, thanks to your little (younger, lol) brother, my father calling you P.T. ❤

My heart is sad to hear you have left us but rejoice that you are now with the Lord! I have so much good memories of you, serving our small church, sharing your time and love with us all, and your love for the Lao people. I’m so grateful for God putting you in our lives and the impact you forever made in our hearts. Your smile was always on your face and your caring heart I will never forget.

Paul Widener, volunteer extraordinaire, faithful friend, loved Jesus , compassionate man of God. Oh how many times did I call Paul and ask him to please drive a van load of crazy wild kids to a water park or to camp and he never turned me down. In fact I called him for a lot of help a lot of times and he was always willing! Thanking God for Paul, a friend I will never forget. On the victory side! With love, scotty

Dear Paul,

I called your cell phone three weeks ago only to learned that it was no longer in service.   I wanted to visit you and take you to lunch. Today,  I learned that you have left us to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I was with a client when I received this news.  I had to go into my car to cry.  

We love you and will truly miss you. You are a father to many of us here at the Lao Church.  Thank you so much for all that you have done for me, my family and First Baptist Lao Church.  Words cannot express how grateful I am, to have you as a friend and a brother in Christ. Your dedication in serving people has  left a big footprint in my heart. Your love for us is undeniable. Thank you for teaching us and alway leading us in a biblical way. I have grown spiritually because of you. You were always here for us.  No matter what the circumstances, you always had time for us. The long retreat drives with Sandra Green to my first Houston Rockets basketball game. I will always cherish my time with you inside my heart.  My heart aches knowing that we didn't do more for you.  You will always be my hero, my role model, and a true friend. Paul, Thank you for everything. I really mean it from the bottom of my heart. I love and will miss you!  We will see each other again soon.

Paul was a dedicated and great leader of the Victory Class at First Baptist Church.  I went with Paul to visit members of the Victory Class.  He was always energetic and helpful in every way.  The last time I saw Paul was at the annual New Year's Eve celebration about 2 years ago.  Rest in Peace Paul.

Paul was a wonderful friend dedicated to serving the Lord Jesus Christ.  He was such a great Director of Victory Class at Houston's First Baptist Church.  The class has many fond memories of Paul as we grew in the Lord, had fun, and Christian fellowship.  He is greatly missed, I am very thankful Paul is rejoicing with his Lord and Savior now and forever.

My love and prayers to his family.  Paul loved his children and was very proud of them.
