Patricia Ann Carr of Houston, Texas passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at the age of 73. She was born in Washington, D.C. to Francis Patrick Carr (deceased) and Patricia Noder Carr of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by two sisters, Sharon Carr Richardson and her husband Fred of Willis, Texas and Susan Carr of Porter, Texas. She has one niece, Jenny Richardson and her partner Mike Henretty, and three nephews Fred Richardson, his wife Erin and their children Alivia and Ashlyn; Patrick Richardson and his wife Brianne and their daughter Lorelei; and Jason DePalma and his wife Jennifer and their children Sofia and Diana. She also has many beloved cousins from the Carr and Noder families.
Patty graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1966 and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1970, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She started her teaching career in Aldine ISD at Hidden Valley Elementary School and finished her 30-year career at Johnson Elementary School. She was an outstanding and highly respected teacher in the school district.
She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and especially by her niece, three nephews and her five great nieces.
Patty’s true passion was finding that perfect gift. She would scour stores, estate sales, garage sales for that perfect trinket that she knew her friend or family member just had to have. She made sure you collected something- whether you liked it or not. The joy she had when you opened that tinfoil wrapped gift was contagious. Another passion was teaching - she always gifted the nieces and nephews with educational items. She was a natural born teacher. She reminisced often of all the funny stories she had of her beloved students and fellow teachers.
For the last 10-years she has been a wonderful caretaker for her father and mother. She has been a nurse, physical therapist, chauffeur, and overall Godsend.
Patty’s sense of humor was one of a kind. That is what made Patty - Patty. Her silly stories, her recollections of great times, and reenactments of all the crazy things that happened to her or around her were priceless. She got to experience her great life in many awesome places - more notably were Westport, CT, New Haven, CT, Houston, Spring, Huntsville, the Galveston Bay, and her all-world travels.
She loved her family, and she loved her friends. We were lucky to share a laugh, unwrap the tinfoil and put a puzzle together with her. Hopefully she is eating Pepe’s pizza in heaven with all her ancestors that she has meticulously told stories of, written stories of, and printed out and documented pictures of. She has tried tirelessly to keep our family history documented.
To say that she will be missed is an understatement. We already miss you terribly. Rest in Peace Patty.
