Michael Allan McDuff entered into this world on May 6, 1950 as the only son of R.J. “Red” and Mary Anne (Davis) McDuff in Ft. Worth Texas. He left his earthly body in the early morning of October 28, 2016 while in peaceful sleep. The space between these two events were filled with attending grade school, junior high and high school in Arlington, Texas graduating from Arlington High School in 1968. During these early years, Michael was an outstanding athlete in baseball and football. In the fall of 1968 with the encouragement of his parents and the offer of a new car he began his college career at the University of Texas – Arlington. He was a member of the newly formed baseball team and soon joined the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Theta Omega chapter. Michael received his degree in Business in 1972. During his life Mike worked for several companies in the commercial credit divisions, some of those being GE Credit, Gensco and Ceirra Pipe Company . One of his more enjoyable employments was with NACM-Gulf Coast where he was able to teach classes and give back to the credit community. In November of 1995 Mike and Tisha Griggs were married much to the surprise of their guests, who thought they were just attending one of the many parties Mike and Tisha liked to give, when a wedding broke out. This led to a love and friendship of almost 21 years. During that time Michael joined Tisha in Austin and Dallas and finally back to Houston after a four year “tour of Texas” while she pursued her career with her promise to him that they would never leave the confines of Texas – being the true Texan he was. Upon returning to Houston Mike joined the Credit Department of NCI Steel Buildings where he stayed until 2006 until his health prohibited him from continuing to work. His love of his Texas Longhorns, Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans kept him occupied when he could no longer work. Upon returning from Dallas Mike and Tisha resided in Katy, Texas. In 2015 they recognized a need to down size and moved to a townhome in northwest Houston where he resided until his death. Mike leaves his wife Tisha, step daughter Kristin Hulse, Bountiful, Utah, step son Theodore Griggs, Boise, Idaho, Granddaughters Kimberly Brown and Elizabeth Hulse, Grandsons Cullen and Kenneth Hulse, Great Grandsons Giovanni, Isias and Noah Tamayo and son-in-law Dana Hulse all of Salt Lake City, Utah and his four legged friends, Amos, Andy and Bailee. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Central Baptist Church, 2855 Greenhouse, Katy, Texas 77084, November 17th at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will be at the Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery, Arlington, Texas on November 19th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to your favorite animal rescue group. Let it be said of Michael “His was a space well filled.”
