Matthew Edmund Bowes

Matthew Edmund Christie Bowes was born September 22nd, 1957 in Magwa Kuwait and died on March 16th, 2026 in Houston, Texas. His early childhood years were spent in Ahmadi, Kuwait followed by boarding schools in England at Cranbrook, Kent and Croydon, Surrey. At age 18 he moved with his family to Houston, Texas and spent a year at Stratford High School. Matthew attended the University of Texas and then spent 8 years in California. He returned to Texas and graduated from paralegal school as well as earned a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Houston. He began his 30+ year career with Kellog Brown and Root which provided him many overseas opportunities in sub contracts as well as procurement.

Matthew met Doris Lindblom in 1992, whom he had previously known in high school. They married in June 1994. In 2003, Matthew and Doris were blessed with their adopted son, Noah Edmund, whom they brought home from Kazakhstan at the age of 1 year old.

Matthew was an avid dog lover, chef, fisherman, photographer and wood worker. He blessed many people in his life with his beautiful artwork.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Doris, and his son, Noah Bowes. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Bones, his sister, Helena Smith, brother-in-law Jack Smith, his niece Christina (Justin) Noland and their two girls, Maggie and Carli, Nephew Brian (Courtney) Smith and their children, Bolton, Bronson and Greylee, his nephew Derrick (Sarah) Smith and their child, Charlotte. Matthew was proceeded in death by his father, Dennis Edmund Bones.

Matthew was given the gift of life on November 22, 2012 when he received a double lung transplant. He became an advocate for organ donation and encouraged others to think about becoming donors.
