Mary grew up in Austin, Texas where she met and married her first husband Fred Watts, together they began raised their four children.
While living in Austin Mary started her career working at the State Comptroller’s Office. Over the years Mary maintained a career while raising and providing for her family. Mary was an excellent cook and loved to bake, she also loved hosting holiday dinners where everyone exchanged many stories.
After she finished raising her children in Houston, Mary met her late husband Ira Medlin and moved to West Columbia, Texas. They spent their retirement years babysitting grandchildren, traveling, raising African violets and creating ceramics.
Mary is survived by her son, Mike Watts and wife Debbie, daughter Sharon Keller and husband Gibb, son Tim Watts and wife Michelle. Grandchildren, Eric and Lauren Watts, Erica and husband Scott Willis, Rachel and husband Cody Revel, Heather and husband Kevin Hernandez, and Miranda Watts. Great grandchildren; Brayden and Cason Willis, Kate Revel and Maycie Grace Watts. Sister, Daisy Cutler and brother, Tom Blackstone.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Ira Medlin, son, Mark Watts, and sisters, Helen Rasco, and Fran Early, brother, Bob Blackstone and great grandchild Wyatt Revel.
There will be a private “Celebration of Life” with family and friends before being laid to rest with her husband Ira at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
