She began her working life at the Miami Herald and eventually moved into the financial industry, starting as a teller at First Federal Savings and Loan in Miami and progressing to Training Manager. After moving to Houston in 1976 she worked as Asst. Vice President in the Training Department at First Interstate Bank in Houston. She was a great manager of people and process.
Laura always said her children were her greatest accomplishment. A devoted mother, she was unfailingly loving and supportive. She was a source of great insight and counsel - her children know they were blessed to have had her in their lives for so many year. She loved music, people and her "grand dogs". .
Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Rogers Ketcham. Survivors include daughter Martha Sue McMorrough and husband John Doyle McMorrough; son Lon Ketcham and daughter Pamela Ketcham; grandson John McMorrough III and wife Julia, great grandsons Matthew and Walter McMorrough.
At Laura’s request there will not be a funeral or memorial service. In remembrance, memorial contributions may be made to Houston Hospice or to a charity of choice.
