

He previously worked at Ham Rock Interiors for numerous years and truly enjoyed every aspect of the business. Mark had a big heart for helping those in need, whether people or animals. He gave of himself to many people in compassion and with a lending ear. He was a blessing to a lot of people in difficult situations. His favorite hobby was knitting.
Mark is survived by his parents, Allie (Mom) and John Blackledge; Roland (Dad) and Shirley Abshire; siblings Roland Jr. (brother) and Mary Abshire, Jeffery (brother) and Mary Abshire, Lisa (sister) and Rolin McPhee, Sarah (sister) and Shawn Englisbee; along with nine nephews and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his partner, Kenneth Dexter; his niece, Allison Abshire; and many of his beloved animals. He will be buried at Leblanc Cemetery in Midland, LA.
A heartfelt appreciation is extended from the family to Houston Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land and in Houston, and to all of the doctors and staff who took care of him. We will carry him in our hearts till we meet again!
