Marilyn Lorraine Stinson passed peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family, on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Born in Topeka, Kansas, on July 13, 1932, to Perry Clark (May 22, 1902-January 9, 1982) and Ester Hildegard Harvey (December 7, 1895-November 28, 1990) Wayman, she was the younger sister of Perry Lee Wayman (June 1, 1928-August 25, 1998). Marilyn graduated from Highland Park High School in Topeka, Kansas and Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas where she met her husband of over 60 years, James Edward Stinson, USAF Retired Colonel, (August 24, 1932-December 30, 2014) of Tribune, Kansas. As an Air Force spouse, she traveled the country, teaching elementary school with her Master’s Degree in Education. Later, she devoted herself to raising her children, Stacy and Eric. Her travels took her all around the world to include residences in Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, California, Michigan, Puerto Rico, Kansas (again), Missouri, Germany, Virginia, Finland (where she hosted dinners and connected with foreign dignitaries), Georgia and Texas (again). Marilyn was active in the Methodist Church and local charities (particularly teaching English and reading to adults from foreign countries), was an avid bridge player and loved traveling. She adored her grandchildren, Caleigh and Alex. Known for her warm hospitality, she was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children Stacy Silva (Eric) and Eric Stinson (Anne McGhee), and grandchildren Caleigh Stinson and Alex Silva. She will be inurned in Grace Garden at The Woodlands Methodist Church next to her husband.
