Maria Maxine Barak

A resident of Houston for 66 years, Maria was originally from Asheville, North Carolina. Survived by her only son, Stephen Michael, daughter-in-law Patricia, granddaughter Katie, grandson Jesse and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a strong and independent woman, running her own business, Blue Chip Secretarial Service, almost all her life, retiring from her 50 year association with Kent McGaughy just last year. She was a fervent football fan who loved to gamble on the games and was delighted to have 7 over 0 as her numbers in the pool.

Maria enjoyed a long and fruitful life and was blessed to have a large circle of loving friends. Kim, Kent, Randy, L. E., Bruce, Shelley, Glenda and Russ were a fraction of the many that will miss her unique and fun presence.

Maria lived and left this life on her own terms. She always spoke her mind and seldom held back her opinions and advice. She came in a tiny package, but she was always the biggest personality in the room. She will be missed.
