
Margaret Anne Fuess was born in Houston on February 9, 1930, to Christian Alois Osterwalder and Ruth Irene Taylor Osterwalder. She completed high school at St. Agnes Academy. She married Lawrence Joseph Fuess, her husband of 53 years. She graduated from Rice University with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in history, and the University of Houston with a master’s degree in education. She taught junior high school history and English for 25 years. In retirement she traveled extensively with her husband and friends and volunteered as a member of the Charity Guild. She loved her family and friends and was a voracious reader of history, fiction, and the news.
She is predeceased in death by her son, Matthew Gerard Fuess, her husband, Lawrence Joseph Fuess, Sr, her sisters, Marion Osterwalder, Ruth Mary Ward, and Olivette Fuess. She is survived by her children, Esperanza Jazz Paz and her wife Janice Caddell, Theresa Anne Fuess, Lawrence Joseph Fuess, Jr, Gregory Taylor Fuess, Ruth Fuess Keegan, and Patricia Fuess Nicknish, and her grandchildren, Jose Ruiz, Lawrence Ruiz, Mary Ellen Fuess, Carl Fuess, Joseph Nicknish, Jr, Chris Elric, Rachel Fuess, Miranda Fuess, Trevor Keegan, and Claire Keegan.
She is also survived by her great grandchildren Kenziley Nicknish, Tesla Nicknish, Alphonse Elric, and Timothy Keegan. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to West Houston Assistance Ministries, 10501 Meadowglen Lane, Houston, Texas 77042.
