
She was the owner of Susan Neptune Heritage Restorations where she worked refinishing, repairing and restoring antique furniture for over thirty years. She also owned Settlers Hardware, a boutique hardware store specializing in antique door, cabinet and architectural hardware.
Susan attended Grady Elementary and the Kincaid School here in Houston, and then Panhandle University where she was in the pre-veterinary program.
She is survived by her partner, Marion Gilmore and her brother Gary Robert Neptune and his wife Eva Brigette Gottschall M.D. of Boulder, Colorado.
Susan had a love of antique furniture and hardware and served on the Acquisitions Committee of the Bayou Bend MFAH to whom she will be leaving a bequest. She is also leaving a bequest to the Lung Department at Methodist Hospital Medical Center in thanks for their care during and after her lung transplant.
Her loss will be deeply felt by those who loved her and those who depended upon her expertise in woodworking and hardware. Susan was also a world class raconteur.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 13th at Brenner’s on the Bayou, 1 Birdsall St., from 6:30-8:30 PM.
