Lynne Rita Roux passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born on December 16, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Arthur Marcus Roux Sr. and Rita Fouin Roux. Lynne graduated from St. Mary’s Dominican High School and St. Mary’s Dominican College, where she received her degree in education in only three years. She dedicated 35 years to educating children in Jefferson Parish public schools. She loved teaching and inspired her students with her own love of reading. Lynne will always be remembered for her kind, sweet personality and bright smile. She cherished every moment spent with her family and especially hosting Sunday family dinners.
Lynne was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Lynn Perez. She is survived by her sons, Stephen R. Perez Jr. (Lauren), David A. Perez (Maria), and John R. Perez; grandchildren, Nicole Mourra (Michael), Jeanne Hebert (Andrew), Kayla Perez, Mary Kay Grundmeyer (Luke), Catherine Perez, Emily Carver (Caden), Evan Perez, and Jackson Perez; five great grandchildren; brother, Arthur M. Roux Jr. (Jeanne) and other relatives.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, 3368 Esplanade Ave., New Orleans, LA 70119, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124.
