A dedicated husband, and a wonderful, loving father. A generous mentor to his family and close friends. Kornel lived his life to the fullest, overcoming many obstacles and challenges. Having lost his immediate family as a young man because of World War II in Europe, he became homeless and a man without a country. He was determined to start a new life. Through perseverance and his faith, Kornel’s journey took him to Venezuela in 1946, where he met and married his one true love, Anita in 1952, started a family and enjoyed a successful refrigeration engineering career. After 32 years, he achieved his dream to come to the United States, becoming a US citizen. Although he officially retired in 1987, he started his own company thereafter and continued working until his final days.
Throughout Kornel’s life, he had always tried to be rational instead of excessively optimistic, thus eluding disenchantment. He understood that achieving his life objective would not be easy, but attainable. He always had faith in The Lord and felt His presence in his life. It was Kornel’s firm conviction that without the Lord, he would not have accomplished all that he did in his life.
Activities and hobbies he enjoyed: Cooking, world travel, audio books, reading on a variety of subjects, spending time with his family.
After 72 years of marriage and rich life experiences, he taught us all to always be curious, love and respect one another and take advantage of all that life has to offer.
