Kathleen Mary Sundeen

Kathie, as she was known to her friends, was preceded in death by her son Michael Thomas Luke, parents Mary Elizabeth “Molly” Ingham and Harold Ingham, brother Harold James “Jimmy” Ingham. She is survived by her husband, Hjalmar Sundeen, sons Dan Luke and Kenneth Luke, daughter Sharon “Shari” Kile and husband Dennis, sister Charlotte Lafferty and husband Patrick, niece Ingrid Ingham-Barker, granddaughter Frances Ward and husband Jamie, step-grandchildren Crystal Kile, Tommy Kile, April Prescott and Scott Kile, great-grandchildren Vaughn Kemp and Miel Ward, step-great-grandchildren Ashley Prescott, Devin Kile, Chris Saltsman, Joshua Saltsman and Brittany Prescott, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Kathie was born in Manchester, England in 1922. She came to this country with her family in the 1930’s. She was a talented artist and fine arts major at the University of Houston. In her professional life she was a commercial underwriter and a certified risk manager, an occupation unusual for women at the time. She loved her work and retired “way too soon” at age 70.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made in the form of a donation in her name to the Houston Humane Society.
