JUDITH ANN BIELAMOWICZ, 82, of Houston, Texas was called home Monday, July 4, 2022. Judy was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 26, 1939. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Bielamowicz; daughter, Joan Quinn; son, Norman Bielamowicz; grandson, Michael Herzig; parents, Joseph & Gertrude Holdenried; brothers, Jackie and Skipper Holdenried; and dear friend, John Allgaier.
Judy is survived by her children, Ann Kelly of Belton, Laura Bjorklund of Scottsdale, Alice Rogers of Austin; 11 grandchildren (Matthew, Madeline, Mitchell, Carin, Andrew, Joseph, Martin, Natalie, Ryan, Cody, and Dusti) and 11 great-grandchildren (Abby, Clark, Cooper, Carter, Callum, Jaxon, Zoey, Cason, Nolan, Miles, and great-grandbaby #11 due in August); sister, Veronica Bielamowicz of Humble; brother, Thomas Holdenried & wife Johnnie of Ramona, California; brothers and sisters by marriage, Bill & Wanda, and Jerry & Lynn Bielamowicz; several nieces and nephews; and an abundance of friends.
Judy's family moved from St. Louis to Houston when she was in the fifth grade. Judy and her future husband, Norman, attended grade school at Assumption Catholic School. They attended separate high schools -- Norman at St. Thomas and Judy at Incarnate Word Academy, where she enjoyed singing in the Glee Club with classmates who remained friends through the years. During this time Norman and Judy also began dating. They married on June 18, 1960 and spent their honeymoon in San Antonio. They had five children from 1961 to 1968 while members of Assumption Catholic Church. They sang in the church choir and the Catholic Chorale Society. Judy found joy in teaching her young daughters to sing together in harmony and they continued the quartet through high school.
After outgrowing their home in Houston, Norman and Judy built a home and began a new life for their family in 1972 in Spring, Texas in the Bammel Forest neighborhood, where many years were enjoyed. The family became active members of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. After Norman passed away in 1999, Judy continued to care for the home she loved until it was lost to Hurricane Harvey in 2017. Judy was always busy. She enjoyed working in her yard, building bird houses and models of Mississippi river boats, decorating her giant doll house, and volunteering at church. She was also a member of the Bammel Forest Garden Club that continued to meet even after the hurricane. She became a member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church and was active with Senior Friends where she met John Allgaier. The two became fast friends and brought much joy to each other for 12 years until his passing in June 2021. Judy's faith was strong, and she loved to help where she could. She watered the plants inside the church which were noted recently not standing as tall. They too will miss Judy.
During Judy's career years, she worked with her father at M.A. Bell right out of high school, she was church secretary at Assumption Church when her children were young, and she had a long career with Minolta selling copiers to churches. She was proud to contribute to her family and enjoyed her work and those she worked with.
Please join family and friends to honor Judy on Friday, July 22, 2022. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, Texas 77379. Rite of Committal will be at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
