John Edward Richardson, 80, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025. Born on December 21, 1944, in Narrows, Virginia, John lived a full and fiercely loved life, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, laughter, and unconditional acceptance.
He was preceded In death by his parents, Clarence William Richardson and Iona Pearl Payne Richardson, and by his siblings Eugene Richardson, Maxine Reeves, Garland Richardson, William Richardson, Eunice Chaney, Basil Richardson, Thomas Richardson, and James Richardson.

He was a proud grandfather to several grandchildren and great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Donald Richardson and Karen Kenworthy.
John was an amazing—if at times complicated—man who never missed a moment to crack a joke or lovingly “pick” on those closest to him. His teasing was his way of showing affection, and those on the receiving end knew they were deeply loved. He had a heart bigger than most and was quick to help anyone in need, opening his home and arms to friends and strangers alike. To him, family wasn’t just blood—it was anyone he made feel seen and welcomed.
Though there will be no formal services, John’s impact on those who knew him is immeasurable. He will be remembered for his sharp wit, his giving nature, and the warmth he brought into every room. He was the kind of man you don’t forget—and wouldn’t want to.
