Janet K Cooper Clamp, age 75, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025 in Houston, Texas. Born in Wooster, OH, she spent most of her life in Columbia, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Anna Mae Cooper, and by her brother Robert Owen (Bob) Cooper. She is survived by her son David Clamp, his wife Deyfi and their daughter Emilia; her daughter Becky Clamp; her sister Joan Robinson; her sister Sharon Hensley and her husband Tommy; her step-grandson Chris Ross and his wife Catherine; her step-granddaughter Caity Ross, her fiancé Jordan Janflone, and their son Ronin; and by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Janet was retired from First Citizens Bank in Columbia, SC. She loved to cook, crochet, and be surrounded by the people she loved most -family and friends. Her kind, generous, and joyful spirit lit up every room she entered. She had a special way of making everyone feel at home, and to so many, she was like a second mom. Her love for animals and her big heart will never be forgotten.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people at Clare-Mar for the exceptional care and compassion shown to our mom during her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at the Blythewood Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 764 Grover Wilson Rd, Blythewood SC 29016, on Saturday, April 26 at 3:00 pm et. A link to view the service will be posted online for those unable to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Houston SPCA.
