James Hulen Wellborn

James Hulen Wellborn, age 75, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, at his home in Montgomery County, TX. He was born to David and Bernice Wellborn on May 27, 1948, in Atlanta, Georgia.

James proudly served his country in the Army before embarking on a successful career in the Airline Industry. He dedicated over 25 years of service as a Dispatcher with Continental Airlines.

Outside of his professional life, James found joy in simple pleasures. He cherished spending time outdoors, often taking long walks to appreciate nature. His passion for health and wellness extended to his love for gardening, where he delighted in cultivating native plants and creating beautiful landscapes. While "Jimmy" loved a good baked potato, he had a penchant for organic fruit and nuts, often explaining their health benefits to any and all that would listen, including strangers.

James is preceded in death by his parents, David and Bernice Wellborn, and his brothers, Curtis Wellborn and David Wellborn. James is survived by his three children, James Wellborn, Rachael Wellborn, and David Wellborn. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Williams.

A memorial service to celebrate James's life will be held on August 5, 2024, at 2:30 pm at the Houston National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with military honors.
