Harold (or as many called him – Wayne) formerly of Bartlesville, OK, passed away September 9th at his home in Katy, TX. Harold was born to Natina and Glen Olehy on July 28, 1932, in Bartlett, KS and raised in Edna, KS. Upon graduation from Edna High School, Harold enlisted in the Navy and served during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Shields out of San Diego, CA. He married Mary Kathryn French on July 25, 1954, in Edna, KS, and just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Upon leaving the Navy, Harold attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS graduating with a Master’s Degree in Education. Harold and Mary moved to Bartlesville, OK in 1959 where he worked for Bartlesville Public Schools. Harold started his career as a teacher at both College High School and Sooner High School before moving to Director of Buildings, Grounds and Transportation. Harold retired in 1992 from Bartlesville Public Schools.
Harold loved his family and his many jobs as an educator and administrator within Bartlesville Public Schools. Harold was inducted into the Bartlesville Public Schools Foundation Hall of Fame in 2010.
Harold could fix absolutely anything be it a car, plumbing, electrical or challenges that his two girls faced, he fixed it all. He was a loving, caring and engaged dad and Pappaw and Pawpaw.
Harold (or HW as Mary called him) is survived his wife Mary Olehy of Katy, TX, daughter and son-in-law Debbie (Olehy) and Jay Davis of Boston, MA, daughter Nedra (Olehy) Kennedy of Katy, TX, grandson and wife, Cody and Emily Davis of Tulsa, OK and grandson Lon Kennedy of Katy, TX, great grandson Sam Davis of Tulsa, OK, a sister and brother-in-law Mary Ruth and Archie Riley, niece Karen and Denzil Smith all of Edna, KS and Enissa Hammell who cared for Harold for the last 3 years and has become part of the Olehy family.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents Natina and Glen Olehy, an infant brother Lloyd and Paul French (brother-in-law).

A celebration memorial of Harold Wayne Olehy’s life will be held at the Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church, 6035 S. Fry Road in Katy, TX on Tuesday, September 19th at 11 a.m.
