of Houston, Texas, was called home to be with the Lord on December 15, 2024. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. George loved to keep busy with work, enjoyed the outdoors, and loved listening to music on the radio. He will be remembered for these things, and for his unwavering love and devotion for his family.
Born on March 8, 1937, in Gonzales, Texas, to Trinidad Vitela and Joe Delgado, George was raised as one of seven siblings. He shared a special bond with his three brothers: John, Joe, and Ruben, and his four sisters: Rosie, Sandra, Sandy, and Sylvia.
On October 9, 1955, George married his beloved wife, Ernestine Reyes, whom he affectionately called Ernie. Their marriage of nearly 53 years was blessed with five children, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. George was predeceased by his wife, Ernie, whom he lovingly cared for during her illness until her passing in May 2008.
George is survived by his son Ruben, and daughters Christine, Kathy, Rosemary, and Margaret; and sons-in-law Juan and Johnny. George’s loyalty to them, and his deep devotion to their mother, will forever be etched in his children’s hearts.
He is survived by his grandchildren Michele, Samantha, Rachel, Alexis, Victoria, and grandsons-in-law, Rene and Leo; great-grandchildren Edward, Joshua, Joseph (Jojo), Jenesis (Jenna), and Catrina; and step-grandchildren James, Jenny, and Shavon, and their children Lauren, Danielle, William, Olivia, Eric Jr., Paloma, Gabriel, Grace, and Lucy.
