Francis “Terry” Williamson, born May 23, 1936 in East St. Louis, Illinois, passed away on June 1, 2021 in Houston, TX at the age of 85. He was employed at Mc Donald Douglas, contracted with NASA, worked several places in Houston, and retired from Spring Branch ISD.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Williamson; children, Todd Williamson, Stacey Williamson Loeffler and son-in-law Christopher Loeffler; three grandchildren, Alex Williamson, Mattie Williamson, Katelyn Loeffler; and his sister, Jane Ellen Allen.
He is preceded in death by his parents Francis Austin Williamson, Juanita Williamson Ledbetter, and brother-in-law, Claude Allen.
Terry had a great love for his family, traveling, watching sports, and playing games. He was very proud of his children and was sure to let everyone know.
His love of travel started when he visited Todd multiple times in Puerto Rico. Then to Bahrain, Qatar, France, Switzerland, and China. His sense of direction was one of his shortcomings. We always said if you think you go left, then go right. We lost him a couple a times, he went down the wrong side of Enchanted Rock and again on the Great Wall of China. The week before he passed, he had expressed his wishes to go on an African Safari. He loved going on cruises. He cruised the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Yangtze River, and Panama Cannel. He and Shirley always had a scrabble tournament going. If he was on a winning streak, then he would let you know. He made everything into a contest, for example, while waiting at the railroad crossing, everyone would put in their guess for how many cars were left. He would make you play for the world championship, the universe, and then the galaxy.
Terry never met a stranger; he could talk your ear off. He loved to tell jokes, maybe not always appropriate ones.
