Earlene was born on July 7, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois to Charles Earl and Bridget Della (McSherry) Massey. She was raised in Chicago with her three siblings Earl, Charlene and Joe Mike. She met and married Frank Wajda in 1957 and had three children: John, Barbara and Frank. They moved to Wheeling, Illinois to raise their children. Although they ultimately divorced, Earlene was an exceptional single mother, working hard to ensure a good future for her children. She worked as a manager for K-Mart in the Chicago suburbs for more than 30 years before she retired in 1997. Once her children were grown, Earlene married Jeffrey A. Lamb in 1984. They lived together in Wheeling until 2018, when she decided to leave the snow behind and move closer to her daughter in Livingston, Texas.
Earlene loved bowling, reading, card games, gardening, and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Della Massey, her brother Earl Massey, her sister Charlene Massey, and her sons John and Frank Wajda.
She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Lamb of Livingston, her brother Joseph Michael Massey and his wife Sharon of Harrodsburg Kentucky, her daughter Barbara Jean Corbin and her husband Barney of Livingston, and her grandsons Ryan Eugene Clark, Kevin Anthony Corbin and Terry Xavier Corbin of Houston.
Services will be held at 10:30am, September 14, 2023 at Houston National Cemetery. Earlene is forever in our hearts, loved beyond words, missed beyond measure.
