He moved to Missouri as a small child and attended school there to the 4th grade. His family relocated to Indiana where he graduated from Edinburgh High School in 1962. Pete honorably served for four years in the U.S. Air Force with assignments in Tripoli, Libya. Upon his honorable discharge in 1967 he relocated to Houston, Texas for the rest of his years.
After service, Pete found his way into the business of commercial printing. All while working tirelessly trying to establish a young career, he attended Sam Houston University. After 8 years of pursuit, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business. That pursuit of excellence and perseverance toward achievement is a hallmark example of Pete's work life. Pete was a successful entrepreneur and owner of Regency Business Forms serving clients in the greater Houston area and across the US for over 35 years.
Pete was a friends' friend and will be greatly missed. For years and even decades, he and his group of friends would have their weekly lunch and "meaningful" talks. As his friends would come and go with their own needs, Pete was always there in support and comfort. Pete's commitment and kindness was a trademark to his character.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents, William H Goldsmith, and Della Mae (Heckathorn) Goldsmith. Two brothers, Tim Goldsmith of Kansas and Robert (Joann) Shoup of Franklin, IN.
Pete is survived by his wife Barbara, whom he proudly declared to be the love of his life. Pete would always say that Barbara corrected his course, and in many ways saved his life. His daughter Gretchen Shoup of Houston; Stepson Michael Alan Wain (Nicole) of Indianapolis and his brothers Bill (Robin) Goldsmith of Crocker, MO and Larry (Paula) Goldsmith of Plano, TX. Grandchildren: Allison Noel Wain, Austin Michael Wain, Lauren Olivia Wain, Madeline Sarou Erby and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Services will be March 1st at 11am at The Foundry Church at 8350 Jones Rd.,Houston, Texas 77065
