Donald Richard “Rick” Taylor Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the age of 60 after a 5-year battle with leukemia. Originally from Kettering, Ohio, Rick was born on July 24, 1958, graduated Fairmont East High School in 1977, relocated to Houston in 1978, and graduated from the University of Houston in 1986. Rick began in the Houston court system and became a successful Senior Litigation Paralegal for some of the country’s largest law firms. He worked on high-profile cases, such as the Arthur Anderson case in connection with the Enron scandal, Marshall Family vs Anna Nicole Smith, and Roger Clemens’ PED trial; he was before the US Supreme Court twice. Survived by his son, Donald Richard “Trey” Taylor III and Trey’s wife Kayla, Rick spent the last years of his life enjoying his grandchildren – Aria and Logan. He is further survived by parents Donald Richard Taylor Sr. and Roberta Ellen Taylor, sisters Krista Sue Taylor and Lori Lynne Davis, as well as a nephew, three nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Rick’s love for his family, travel, nature, and the Dallas Cowboys will live on.
