Dolores (Miranda Kruse) Wiggs, passed peacefully on the evening of September 12, 2018 surrounded by family and loved ones in Richmond, TX. Dolores, born in 1942 to August & Elveda Miranda of Houston, TX, celebrated her 76th birthday this July 31st.
Dolores was raised in South Houston with a strong sense of family values. She adored her parents and 3 brothers and followed in her father’s footsteps by joining the US Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol in High School and trained as a pilot. Becoming a wife and mother as a young adult, Dolores focused her attention to the love and support of her family and church. Dolores loved vacationing and traveling with family and friends, she enjoyed playing canasta with her girlfriends, dancing and listening to music, crocheting, painting, spending time with her grandchildren, and visiting her brothers in tranquil Fred, TX.
She was a faithful church and board member of both the Alief and Pasadena Brethren Churches. Dolores served on the Unity of the Brethren Synodical Committee as well as a convention delegate.
Most of Dolores’ professional career was spent in finance with Texas Commerce Bank and Wells Fargo. In retirement she served in the Pasadena School District Mentoring Program, where she received the award for Mentor of the Year.
Dolores is survived by her children Elveda and Ben Kruse, daughter-in-law Candace Kruse, grandsons Brandon and Christian Kruse, granddaughter Jada Kruse, brothers Doug and David Miranda, stepbrothers Louis and Kenneth Manas, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Doris Miranda, and brother Thomas Miranda.
Dolores will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM September 29, 2018 at Pasadena Brethren Church, 1810 Scarborough Ln, Pasadena, TX 77502 with reception/lunch to follow.
