It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. David McGown on September 24, 2023. Born on November 17, 1955, David lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, marked by his wit, kindness, humor, and wisdom.
David was predeceased by his father, Joseph McGown, and his brother, James McGown, whose memories he carried fondly in his heart. David aimed to leave the world better than he found it, and his legacy is carried on by his beloved family members who survive him.
He is survived by his mother, Connie McGown, whose strength, and resilience served as a pillar in his life. His spirit lives on in his son, Christopher McGown and his wife Nicole McGown. David's memory will be cherished by his loving daughter Courtney LeBlanc and her husband Mason LeBlanc. A source of infinite pride and joy in David's life were his grandsons, Elijah and Ezra LeBlanc, whose laughter and youthful charm brought him immense happiness.
David was a loyal fan of the Houston Astros, cheering them on game after game with unwavering enthusiasm for over 50 years. In his free time, he found solace in the simple pleasure of fishing, a pastime that brought him peace and tranquility. Forever remembered for his kindness and compassion, which was reflected in his time served in his college service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, as well as his years of involvement with The Boy Scouts of America. David brought light and laughter to everyone around him, whether it be with a lively joke or a simple act of kindness.
A Celebration of Life service for David will be held on September 30, 2023, at 10 AM at the LifePoint Church, 38337 Spur Road, Magnolia, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to American Heart Association, https://www.heart.org/en/get-involved/ways-to-give. Attendees are encouraged to share their favorite stories and memories of David, celebrating the life of a man whose love and kindness touched the hearts of many.
David's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his vibrant spirit remains immortal in their memories. His light continues to shine in his family, and his legacy lives on in the lives of those he loved and influenced.
