

David Dunn was born in Monroe, Louisiana to Lillian Croft and Damon Dunn in 1937. He attended Ouachita Parish High School and graduated from Sam Houston College. David Dunn was a very talented Blues musician. He could play any instrument he put his hands on. He topped the charts in the 60's sometimes beating out Elvis. He played with B.B King, Fats Domino, and a young Tina and Ike Turner - just to name a few. He recorded for Twist (as Little David Dunn), for Lori Records, Golden Eagle, Picture, and much later for Big T in the seventies. You can still find his music to this day almost 60 years later. His biggest hits include My Gal. Rockhead, and You Made Me Love You. David Dunn won many awards for his muscle cars he collected over the years. He also competed and won several titles in body building competitions. David became a sheriff with Harris County in 1976-1985. During that time he campaigned for safer gun laws and was awarded many accolades for his bravery, even receiving a letter from the President of the United States. After 1985, David started his own security company, providing malls such as Greenspoint Mall with security. There are too many accomplishments to list. David Dunn was incredibly kind and strong. He worked hard for the people he loved and gave everything he had.
He is survived by his daughter, Dore Dunn; daughter in law, Misty Lewis; stepson, Brandon Coker; daughter in law, Sandy Noble; grandchildren, Ashley Lewis, Klaya Moore, Dallas Dunn, and Campbell Coker.
