

David Thane Clark passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025 in Cypress, Texas. He had been receiving hospice care following many years of treatment for prostate cancer. He was 81 years old. He was predeceased by two of his four sisters, Judy and Joy, earlier in the year.
David was born in Albany, California on July 17, 1944. He was the second child and only son of Thane Leslie Clark Jr and Helen Christensen Clark. He was raised in both California and Oregon, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Oregon State University.
David spent most of his adult life in San Jose, California. He was employed with City of San Jose for 32 years as a groundskeeper and gardener. He also worked part time as a van driver for Corinthian House, a senior residence located in Campbell. He accompanied residents to local churches, restaurants, and theatre and music performances. Following his retirement, he worked privately as a gardener and served on the Board of Directors of Corinthian House.
David was active in the Christian Science church and served on the gardening committee for the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Los Gatos.
David married his second wife, Dorrie, in 1988. They lived together until this past spring, when he moved to a memory care facility. She continued to visit him there until his death. David is survived by his wife and three children, Jeremy, Shannon, and Lisa, and three grandchildren, Holly, Niall, and Elias. He is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy and Kathleen. David loved his faith, gardening, and antiques. David was very much loved during his life and will be missed by many.
