Christopher Lee White passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025 after a four-year battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by love and comfort. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and his assured spirit and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
An Army brat who spent his childhood in Turkey, Germany, and Virginia, Chris, as he was known, carried with him a deep appreciation for history, nature, and storytelling – qualities that found a home during his years working for National Geographic in Washington, D.C. It was there that he met the love of his life, Jenny, beginning a partnership that would span more than 60 years, rooted in affection, mutual respect, and abundant joy.
Together, they welcomed their son, Eddy, while living in Florida. Chris worked at the Kennedy Space Center when mankind first set foot on the moon. Chris eventually settled his family in Friendswood, Texas, where he enjoyed a career as a corporate pilot. Chris and Jenny built a warm, grounded life, raising Eddy with care and integrity. In their retirement years, they made the rolling countryside of Washington County, Texas their final home, where Chris found peace in the rhythm of quiet days and a long list of projects on the ranch.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Jenny; his son, Eddy, and daughter-in-law, Melinda; and his grandchildren, Barrett, Jay, and Brian. He is also survived by his brother, Jim, and sister-in-law, Sandy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Velma, and his brother, Richard.
Chris’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the wealth of stories he generously shared. He was deeply loved. He will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Chris’s memory.
