Brian was my dad's very good friend. I always remember my father and Brian giggling away when we went on safari with carol and my mum. He was known as Chucky Norris in Narok, Kenya. A kind and generous gentleman who always made me laugh and did not ignore me like the other adults. Hoping him and my father are in a bar in heaven together.

I met Brian in grade school where we participated together in Boy Scouts, school, and extra-curricular activities  including the school newspaper. One early yearbook comment remarked simply, From Coolsville! When we graduated, he wrote I have known you since 4th grade; we've gone through school, camp, Boy Scouts, and Hell together  I wish you the best in the future. Uncle Mike brought energy, enthusiasm, and a special flair to all that he did!

I met Brian when I was posted to Dallas on assignment from Caltex South Africa, a great privilege at the time it seemed. Despite being new and somewhat apprehensive, unlike some Brian never looked down on me and was always friendly and supportive when I was in his region.   I well remember Brian's hilarious retirement speech with Jock McKenzie in attendance - who was trying hard to look serious but couldnt help laughing.
Brian was undoubtedly a Bon Viveur and he taught me one thing: squeeze what joy, fun, and laughter you can out out of life and don't stop until it stops you.  Thank you for the small kindnesses, Brian.

I first met Brian and Carol in 1983, shortly after my posting to Dar es Salaam as Deputy British High Commissioner. Typically the occasion was a boozy lunch. We were not an obvious match. A British diplomat and an American oil man. But we very quickly decided we liked each other and enjoyed each other's company.
Our friendship lasted beyond our respective postings to Tanzania. We kept in touch and over the years were able to see each other in London, Hove, Istanbul, Dallas, Kampala and Houston. The thing about our friendship was that it did not matter whether we had met last week or last year, it remained strong, warm and full of fun. We just picked up where we had left off.
Brian and Carol were great friends with my late wife Annebritt. But in 2015 they warmly welcomed Tricia my wife of two years and her daughter Millie to their home in Houston and in the process created new fans.  
Brian was generous, kind and mischievous. A great personality and a treasured friend , whom I shall miss terribly.

We were priviliged to have met Brian and Carol while working in India for 3 in the 90.s We became great friends and loved to be in  his company.  Truly a classy gentleman who worked hard and played hard. We have fantastic memories of those 3 years and will never forget our times together. . Brian's spirit and joie de vivre will be missed by all

Brian! You and I shared a great friendship for almost 40 years. We loved and respected each other through mainly good times but also bad times. I know I am a better person for having known you over those years. Rest in peace my friend.
