Barbara Elizabeth Steel

Barbara Elizabeth Steel age 79 of Fulshear, Texas passed away on Wednesday April 26, 2017. Barbara attended Lamar High School in Houston and the University of Alabama. Barbara enjoyed a long career with the Spring Branch Independent School District where she served as student counselor and testing specialist. Barbara loved horses and participated in the annual Pin Oaks Horse Show as a young lady. She continued horse ownership at her beloved Pecan Hill home in Fulshear where she also raised Brittany Spaniel show dogs. Barbara was always active in animal rescue organizations. She was interested in family genealogy and Texas history. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Steel, her parents Joe and Elizabeth Seale Beery, and her devoted grandparents Allan and Elizabeth Seale of Houston. Barbara is survived by her brother Joe Beery Jr. In addition, Barbara is survived by her cousins Joanne Seale Wilson and Elizabeth Seale Jeppson, cousins Steve Beery, Roy Beery, Jennifer Brock, Lynn Kelson, Elizabeth Deaton, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Barbara was loved and will be deeply missed by longtime friends and neighbors Louisa Fletcher and Tom Dolence of Fulshear, Texas. After a celebration of life gathering at Pecan Hill, there will be a private service at historic Oak Grove Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas where she will rest with her beloved grandparents Allan and Elizabeth Seale.
