Arthur Ray Stewart

Arthur Ray “Butch” Stewart, born on July 28, 1948 in Meridian, Mississippi, passed away on October 28, 2019 in Houston, Texas after a brief illness. He was a resident of Tomball, Texas for the past 16 years. Preceded in death by his father, Harry Stewart, his mother, Kathryn Stewart and sister, Kay Cole. Survived by his wife of 23 years, Carol Jean Stewart, sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Ernie Parker, sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Danny Hempsmyer, brothers, Don and Mike Stewart, stepson, Richard Snodgrass, beloved grandchildren, Richard and Amber Snodgrass and many nieces and nephews.

Arthur (Butch) joined the Army on September 9, 1967 and was honorably discharged on September 21, 1970. He served with the 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam and after suffering an eye injury was returned to the States for medical treatment.

He married Carol Jean whom he loved very much. He helped Jean raise two grandchildren, Richard and Amber, whom he cherished and loved with all his heart.

Butch was a good and kind hearted man and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
