passed away on January 31, 2025 at the age of 72 in Houston, Texas. He was born on November 19, 1952 in Warrington, England to Raymond and Edna Wike. Andrew was a bright student, passing his 11 plus exam (required for entry to grammar school) a year early. Andrew fell in love with tennis at a young age and excelled in the sport. He attended Wolverhampton Polytechnic and as a third year student spent four months at CERN nuclear research center in Geneva, Switzerland.
In 1975, he received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, graduating with honors. He went on to live in Rotterdam, Netherlands where he worked for the company Logica BV and implemented the first SCADA system for Gasunie. He left Rotterdam in the 80's to establish a branch office of Logica BV in Houston, Texas followed by working on the Bay Area Rapid Transit system (BART) in San Francisco, California then settled back in Houston where he set up his own consulting firm, Aldis LLC with major energy industry clients in Columbia and China.
He married Pamela Wolfson in November 1987.They were married for 25 years. He was proficient at darts and played in the local tournaments, he loved his dogs Zaphod and Asgard, had an enormous stamp collection and was a proud member of Mensa International.
He’s survived by his children, Nicholas and Alessandra, his former wife, Pamela, his brother, John, his sister in-law, Fiona and his nephews, James, Stephen, and Thomas.
A memorial service for Andrew will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77079. The memorial service will be held in the Prayer Chapel. For easier parking, please use the East Parking Lot.
