Andrea Moreland McGowan

Andrea Anne Moreland McGowan, of Houston, Texas was born on March 4, 1962 in Great Driffield, Yorkshire, England. She was the second of four children to parents, Tom and Dana Moreland.

Andrea attended Marist High School in Eugene, Oregon and Oregon State University. After moving to Houston, TX in her early 20’s she began a career in Grocery Management and later worked on an oilrig in the Gulf of Mexico.

Throughout her life, Andrea lived in England; Eugene, Oregon; Houston, Texas; Missouri, Germany and Killeen, Texas before moving back to Houston in 2020.

Andrea loved her family, caring for animals, and traveling around Europe when she lived in Germany with her daughter and grandchildren. She enjoyed sports and outdoor activities; she always enjoyed being around water whether it was at the Oregon Coast where she spent a lot of time as a child, or picnicking around a lake in Texas. Andrea loved to dance and could be found teaching people of all ages how to line dance.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Billy Mac) McGowan; stepson, Michael McGowan; and her mother, Dana Moreland.

Andrea is survived by her father, Tom Moreland; sisters, Kara Uhrich and Lulu McPhee; brother, Tony Moreland; uncle, Ben Peterson; daughters, Abigail Moreland, Lauren Moreland, and Dana McGowan; son, Grayson McGowan; stepsons, Beaver McGowan, Craig McGowan, Andre McGowan; and grandson, Shawn McGowan, whom Andrea raised; and 25 adored grandchildren.
