Amy is survived by her husband William “Bill” Smith Jr., her son Daniel Smith and his fiancé Wendy McGeehan and other son Adam Smith and his wife Tiffany Smith and her six grandchildren Brandon, Madison, Josh, Trinity, Hunter, and Sydney. Amy also leaves behind her brother Jerry Minshew, and sisters Cindy Woolums and Susie Nelson.
Amy was born in Mobile, Alabama which is where she met her husband Bill. She then moved with Bill to Texas where she raised her family in Bellaire.
Throughout her life, Amy was known best as a loving mother and grandma or as her grandchildren would call her “Mamaw” or “Mimi”. She was lovingly known for many years as the “Avon lady” as she sold Avon to so many for over 25 years. Amy had a strong passion for baseball and her two boys also fell in love with the sport. Amy could be found most days at a baseball field with either of her sons coaching the team or cheering them on. She was a proud member of the Bellaire Optimist Club and later in life would run the Kyle Chapman Pony League as their president for a short time.
Amy was also very patriotic and ended up raising both sons to join the military, one in the Navy and the other a Marine.
Above all Amy was a loving, caring soul who will be greatly missed by many. Her passion, drive, and caring personality lives on in her children, grandchildren, and many other loved ones.
Amy is entrusted to the care of Neptune Society funeral home and her memorial service will be on June 24, 2017 at 2:30 P.M. at Current… A Christian Church located at 26600 Westheimer Pkwy in Katy, Texas 77494. An informal gathering being planned by Daniel will be announced at a later date.
