Alan Olsen Clark, Jr. passed away from our life on December 15, 2022. Alan was born on July 2, 1971 in Gulfport, Mississippi where he developed his love for the water in the Mississippi Sound and back bays throughout the Gulf Coast. Growing up, Alan was an avid sportsman and amazingly adept in any athletic endeavor in which he participated. As a teen, he was the winner of the first junior club champion at the Broadwater Beach Golf Course and second in the State of Mississippi in high school doubles tennis. His firm handshake would humble any man.
Alan was a Partner with Phelps Commercial Realty where he worked with his close friend, John Phelps, for the last twelve years developing countless friendships and business relationships. After graduating from the University of Mississippi in 1993, Alan moved to Houston, Texas and began a career in finance with Salomon Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch.
Everyone who met Alan was uplifted by a person who asked questions and listened, a person who knew your story and was happy to hear it again. Alan’s smile was never wider than when he was holding he and Allison’s children in his arms. He delighted in all aspects of his children’s lives including school functions, dance recitals, soccer games and, especially, Wednesday family chapel. While Alan was very much a “girl dad”, he was overjoyed about the future with his new son playing with trucks, fishing and golfing.
Alan is predeceased by his father, Alan Olsen Clark, Sr. and his father-in-law, James Allen Mobley. He is survived by Allison, his wife of nine years, and their children Alice Annabelle (7), Lillian Frances (5) and Oliver Olsen (11 months), his mother, Brenda Deluca Clark, his brother, John Christian Clark and his wife, Lucia, and their children, John Hawkins Clark and Florie Fincher Clark (7), his sister-in-law, Mary Melissa Mobley, his mother-in-law, Linda Lobingier Mobley and many close cousins, family and friends.
Services will be held at Saint Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas on December 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.,(717 Sage Road, Houston, TX 77056) the day after Ole Miss beats Texas Tech at the Texas Bowl.
