Dorothy “Dottie” Marie Coldren, age 80, went to be with the Lord after a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 5:22 AM in Trueman Pointe nursing home Hilliard, Ohio.
Born October 12,1943 in Bellefontaine,Ohio, she was the daughter of Wayne and Dorothy (Hawkins) Davis. Dottie was a Central high school graduate. She retired in 2014 from her 30 years of being a server at the Florentine restaurant. She was passionate about her job, and adored her Florentine family.
She developed beautiful relationships with her guest’s over the years, that so many came just to see and share their lives with her.
On most days you would find Dottie in her white shorts and tank top working in her yard, pulling weeds and planting flowers. People often told her that her yard was the best on the block. She would also go to her daughters house and help with her yard. She said “I love playing in the dirt, it helps you forget everything else.” She also enjoyed playing cards, mostly euchre and her favorite partner was Aunt Betty! They always giggled and carried on while playing. Dottie always carried cards with her so she could play anywhere and anytime.
Dottie loved cooking for her Family and friends. She would take her specialty meals and baked goods to her daughter and grandchildren, as well as to her family in Bellefontaine. Her delicious noodles and pies made the holidays extra special.
Dottie was always helping others from the smallest of tasks to the larger ones. You could always count on her if she committed to do something. She often put others before herself.
She had two cats, Shemee and Baby, that she loved so dearly, she was sure to let you know they were her babies!!!
Dottie is survived and cherished by her daughter Pam Bocook; grandsons, Bobby (Kristin) Bocook, and Wesley (Katrin) Mulpas; great grandchildren Elijah and Jocelyn Bocook; brother James (Betty) Davis and sister Marcia Wendel; nieces Chrissy (Mike) Crist and Missy (Arkus) Pennington; Nephew Ryan (Krissy) Pierce; and great nieces and nephews.
