Barbara Jean Davids (Bachelder) resident of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and formerly of Fort Myers, Florida passed away November 13, 2018 at 86 years of age following a brief battle with lung cancer. Barbara was born in central Ohio November 2, 1932 and grew up in Mt. Gilead and Delaware, Ohio. She married and focused on her family early in life. As a young woman, she was involved with the League of Women Voters, the local schools and other causes in central Ohio. Barbara was a strong individual, willing to speak her mind on many topics. She loved her pets, especially her dogs. She was an avid gardener and later in life, she took great pride in her flower gardens and tropical plants. Throughout her life, she loved to travel and experience local cultures and foods. She traveled to the South Pacific, Europe, Egypt, Australia, Africa, the United Kingdom, China, Alaska, and many other locations in the US.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Bachelder and Marguerite Halbert, her former husband, Charles Davids, longtime companion, Kenneth Griffith and grandson, Blake Davids. She is survived by her sons, Donn (Patricia West) and Michael (John Mastrojohn), her grandson, Trevor (Bibianne Fell), granddaughter, Caitlin Grooms (Sam) and great-grandchildren Benedict, Rebecca and Madelyn. She is also survived by her sister, Marlene Weiss, aunt, Dorothy Nist, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
Barbara supported Nationwide Children’s Hospital through the years. Donations may be directed to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in her memory.
