Paul Ernest Loebner, 85, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on August 3rd, 2026, leaving behind a beautifully crafted legacy of adventure, art, and deep love for his family.

A Life of Art and Adventure

Paul was a true renaissance man who approached life with boundless curiosity. If he ever mentioned the idea of something new to try, you knew he was going to make it happen. An avid adventurer, he conquered rugged terrain hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and navigated the open waters sailing the Baja in the Gulf of Mexico. He possessed a profound love for the wilderness, whether he was camping in his travel trailer or simply throwing a sleeping bag on the ground to sleep out under the stars.

When he wasn’t exploring the outdoors, Paul was a passionate creator and intellectual. He expressed his immense creativity through intricate woodworking, building things from the ground up, and creating detailed pen-and-ink drawings. A dedicated reader, he loved getting lost in books on history and historical fiction, particularly the epic works of his favorite author, Ken Follett. His days were often soundtracked by the familiar, comforting voice of his favorite singer, Willie Nelson.

Family Legacy

Paul’s greatest joy was the family and community he built across the country.

He is survived by:

● His son, Christopher Loebner, and daughter-in-law, Dr. Sondra Cosgrove of Las Vegas, NV

● His daughter, Andrea Hall, and son-in-law, Roger Hall of Golden Valley, MN

● His cherished granddaughter, Kathryn Hall of Minneapolis, MN

● Louise Loebner of Golden Valley, MN, the mother of Christopher and Andrea

● His brother-in-law, Dr. Charles Drage of Rochester, MN

● His loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews of the Dr. David Drage families of Dellwood, MN, Jonathan Drage family of Barrington,IL and Dr. Lisa Drage (Olson) family of Rochester, MN

● His extended family, including Brian and Linda Siverson-Hall of Minneapolis, MN; Brad Hall of Richfield, MN; the Mark Slepian family of Scottsdale, AZ; and the Dan Clark family of Alamo, CA

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith Harper; his parents, Emil and Mildred Loebner; and his sister, Mildred (Millie) Drage.

In alignment with his outlook on life, Paul’s final wishes were for his loved ones to "not cry because it has ended, but smile because it happened."
