Frank Marvin Wood Jr. was born March 1, 1968, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and died September 23, 2026, at the age of 58. A man of steady courage and quiet tenderness, he moved through life with a hardworking spirit, an adventurous streak, and a kind-hearted way of showing up for others—often delivered with a twist of humor that could cut through even the heaviest moments. He lived in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
Raised across Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and California, Frank’s early years were shaped by change and motion, the kind that teaches a person how to adapt and keep going. He graduated from Antelope Valley High School in Lancaster, CA, in 1986, carrying forward the grit and resilience that would mark the rest of his life.
Frank spent his working life in several casinos, with Circus Circus as the last place he called his professional home. As a slot tech, he took pride in what he did—reliable, hands-on, and committed—and he genuinely enjoyed the daily rhythm of the job, especially the simple, human part of it: meeting people. In the steady work of fixing what needed fixing, and in the small conversations that filled a shift, his gentle nature and compassionate heart found their everyday expression.
Frank’s beloved wife, Ramona Wood, passed away at the beginning of COVID. He spent the rest of his life missing her, carrying that love forward in the quiet ways grief often does—by remembering, by enduring, by continuing on even when the world felt permanently altered.
Those who knew Frank knew his gift for sarcasm and his wonderful sense of humor—his “twisted humor” that could make you laugh when you least expected it, and sometimes when you most needed it. He especially enjoyed his nieces and his great nieces and nephews, and his affection for them was real and enduring, expressed in the way he paid attention, showed up, and kept the bonds of family close. He was loving and honest, and he believed in helping others—an instinct that lived in him as naturally as breathing.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Mike White, Frank’s best friend, who has done so much to help them get through this. Deep thanks also to Rina Bobiles, his lady friend, who helped him so much—making life easier for him and always being there when he was in need.
Frank is survived by his dad, Frank Marvin Wood Sr.; his sisters, Barbara Lynn Rodriguez and Kimberley Ann Wood; and several nieces: Megan Smith, Sarah Shields, Windy Stanton, Billie Sanchez, Sabrina Schultz, and Christine Schultz, as well as great nieces and nephews.
In his own words—words that sound like him, plainspoken and unmistakably Frank—“I’m OK" and "Drag you by your toes.” And now, as those who loved him hold his memory close, it can be said with tenderness and truth: he is now truly OK. His family will miss his humor and sarcasm, and the brave, gentle presence behind them.
