Cassandra Janelle Kaplan

Cassandra “Sandy” Janelle Kaplan, age 56, passed away on April 11, 2026, after enduring many years of illness. At her death, she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 12, 1969 in Las Vegas, NV. She graduated from Bonanza High School and UNLV with a degree in business. She met her husband, Zev, while working at the Regional Transportation Commission of Nevada. She adored her three children, Jacob, Kaylin “Sarah”, and Felyssa.

Before her illnesses became too burdensome she was active in her community, with various contributions throughout the years. Her career spanned across the automotive and transportation industries in Las Vegas and she sat on the board for the New Horizons Academy. We will forever walk in her love and remember her for her strength and resilience in all she faced. She will forever be missed by all those she leaves behind – especially her husband, her children, her mother, Sharon Van Patten, her sister, Debra Castaldy, and her brother, Robert Van Patten, her best friends, and her dogs, Peanuts and Oscar.
