Vickie entered this world on September 18, 1963, at Adventist Health White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. Her childhood was spent in southern California, and northern Virginia, and when she came of age, she moved on in search of life and job opportunities. This took her to many parts of the country but, she eventually settled in Salem Oregon and took on her most favorite role, putting all her love and devotion into her family.
Vickie is survived by her husband Robert Smith, three children Robert Bicknell and wife Tiffany, Eric McGarvie and wife Raquel, and Jennifer Dairy. She also leaves behind her mother Frances Hazel, father Laurence McGarvie, and sister Kathy Babin, and six precious grandchildren, Christian, Madison, Nolan, Rhiya, Matthias, and Charlotte. Additionally, she leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
Vickie enjoyed arts and crafts such as painting, sewing pillows and blankets for her family, baking cookies for her kids at Christmas, and going to church when she could. She loved all animals, but especially horses and her many dogs and cats she cared for over the years. But most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Vickie will be remembered most for her love for God, her smile, sense of humor, and her love for her husband and children. But, more than anything else, she will be remembered for her unconditional love for her grandchildren who filled her life with so much joy and happiness. Vickie will always be in our hearts and will be forever missed.
Memorial services will be held on November 12th, 2022, at 11:00 AM at New Harvest Church, 4290 Portland Rd Salem Oregon, 97301. Pastor Barry Braun officiating.
